The materials and construction of a large Tuatara & Reptile breeding & rearing enclosure. This enclosure will be used for breeding some of New Zealand's rarest and most endangered reptiles, the ancient prehistoric tuatara now only found on offshore islands and some of New Zealand's lesser known endangered skink species which are currently facing extinction in the wild. The valuable role captive breeding can contribute to the conversation of these amazing species and now the chances for increasing their survival have been greatly increased due to Pub Charity's generosity.

This money has been used to fund the following projects:
The materials and construction of a large kaka breeding enclosures. These aviaries will be used for breeding one of New Zealand's rare large parrots the Kaka, this magnificent bird is currently under constant threat from mammalian predators in the wild. The valuable role captive breeding can contribute to the conversation of this amazing parrot has been greatly increased due to Pub Charity's generosity.
Also the production of the second of a series of six brown teal education lessons/kits which are delivered for free to over 32,000 school teachers across New Zealand. As part of the Starters & Strategies Magazine, teachers will now be able to include either 2 weeks full time study or 12 weeks part time study on Brown Teal into their environmental curriculum.
Also the trust was able to purchase a Multifunction Center - photocopier, scanner, printer, fax to assist with the trusts administration.

Many thanks to Pub Charity for their generous donation of $39,624.32 for materials and construction of 5 large breeding enclosures each with it's own 5 x 6m pond holding some 5,500 litres, planted with tussocks for cover and breeding, and completely predator proof and built to last. These aviaries will be used for breeding one of the rarest waterfowl in world, with less than 1,000 birds left in the wild. These facilities will help the boost production for the current captive breeding and reintroduction program run under the Department of Conservation Brown Teal Recovery program. The goal is to reestablish breeding populations in predator free/minimised areas around New Zealand where Brown Teal were once found.

Many thanks to Pub Charity for their generous donation of $10,000.00 towards the production of a brown teal education kit which was delivered for free to over 32,000 school teachers across New Zealand. As part of the Starters & Strategies Magazine, teachers will now be able to include either 1 weeks full time study or 6 weeks part time study on Brown Teal into their curriculum.
Also the trust was able to purchase a computer, projector & screen for both trust administration work and for presenting education and conservation advocacy talks to schools and interested groups.
